The results of 2017’s Q3 Quarterly Awards are in! This quarter, Emerald Gardens and 55 Bishops gate have been named our winners.
For these Quarterly Awards Locale’s Client Services Manager – Scott Craig – presented The Proactivity Award to Andy Wadsworth and his team at Emerald Gardens and The Efficiency Award to Christian Kleidon and his team at 55 Bishopsgate. Scott also presented both sites with some delicious cakes to celebrate their wins!
The Proactivity Award is awarded to a site that actively promotes their Locale portal, and looks at ways to enhance visibility and communication across their estate. Emerald Gardens, a FirstPort site at Wembley Park, received their Proactivity Reward in recognition of development manager Andy and assistant development manager Eimantas’s efforts in encouraging their teams to adopt the system.
On Locale, Andy said ”I would recommend these guys for any development, they have done a great job in Wembley!.”
The winner in the Efficiency category was 55 Bishopsgate, an MJ Mapp site in the heart of London.
The site was awarded their certificate in recognition of the extent to which they have used their portal, and due to the fact that they have been role models for onsite demonstrations.
On the 55 Bishopsgate Portal, Christian commented ”Locale has been great for us here to drive efficiency and streamline communication. In a recent tenants’ meeting one of our tenants raised that they were already aware of most of the agenda items because they had seen the information on the portal. It takes a few months to get all stakeholders on board but now that’s done we’re looking at ways to use the portal more.”
Congratulations to both our winners, your awards are very much deserved.
Here’s to the next Quarterly Awards!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the elves have been busy as things have gotten festive in the office, all in the spirit of Christmas! The tree is up, the computers have been decorated with tinsel, the bunting has been hung – the countdown to the big day has begun…
Friday afternoon was spent decorating the office, listening to festive music, and generally getting in the festive spirit. The Christmas Tree, which takes pride of place in the center of the office, was set up by Jade, Frances and Eszter – and there are even presents wrapped underneath – while Hannah and Jael were in charge of putting up the bunting around the office itself. Eszter claims to have been the most excited about putting up the tree, stating that there were “not enough words to describe just how excited she was”!
And ‘Wham!’ Christmas is here – with very serious faces from everyone, but Jade and Eszter (obviously)!
“Eat, Drink and Be Merry!” can be found on the office window, which is obviously everyone’s slogan this time of year! A fabulous way to end the week, and only two more weeks to the day itself…
Merry Christmas, from everyone here at Locale!

Guy Windsor-Lewis, CEO and Founder said: “We pride ourselves on always having a finger on the pulse of the ever changing proptech market, constantly re-evaluating our products and continually innovating. We recognised that property managers who manage a portfolio of properties all faced similar daily challenges – including wasting time collating multiple status reports, the need for real-time reporting and a lack of transparency when enforcing processes and subsequent compliance liabilities. Our new Portfolio portal is the first of its kind, it’s an innovative solution that guarantees genuine time and financial savings.”
Last week, one of the training experts at Hemsley Fraser came in to enlighten us with the latest thinking about how to deliver an excellent customer service to you – our customers.
The whole team spent the day with Ann Marie, brushing up our skills in written communication, telephone manner, meetings and problem-solving.
Of the course, project manager Jael said ”I enjoyed the Training day as it helped me broaden my knowledge on dealing with difficult situations. It also gave me some understanding into different types of people, which social styles they fall under and how to approach them in certain situations.”
Our Client Services Executive Jo said ”I really liked the training overall, especially the section on how to ask the right questions which I found really helpful for all the calls I make on a weekly basis.”
Thank you Ann Marie for your time, and delivering an informative and enjoyable session to us all.
We are proud of what we do. And we’re delighted when our peers, our clients or the business world at large recognise that we’re good at it. Business awards are a sought-after accolade of achievement, a veritable endorsement of success in business and in Greater London, the inaugural SME London Business Awards help to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SME’s. This year, we are thrilled to have been awarded the SME London Business Award for Best Property Management Software Provider 2017.
What is an SME Award? Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers fall below certain limits, with the abbreviation “SME” being used in the European Union. SMEs are also said to be responsible for driving innovation and competition in many economic sectors. The SME London Business Awards are open to all sole traders and businesses in the region with less than 250 employees.
Guy Windsor-Lewis, CEO and Founder of Locale said: “We’re delighted to have won this award. PropTech is now in full swing and its great to see the property world, from estate agents to asset managers, starting to embrace technology. In the ‘property management’ sector, a few giants are already well placed although they tend to focus on the financial aspects of collecting rent and managing service charges and are playing catch up with the smaller more service orientated organisations who are actually engaging with the building managers and concierge style needs. Locale is an evolving company and we are not content to stand still – we have an exciting roadmap plus numerous partners with whom we are working from key holding, security, concierge. PropTech is generating loads of new tech and companies and some of these will work their way into the market – beware the more conservative asset managers reluctant to embrace the ‘new world’ – however we see a new breed of thirty somethings, excited and ready to use the new tech that is now available to them and which can provide greater efficiencies, more communications and better data.”
We love an excuse to bake in the Locale office, and this time, it was for a good cause! The team participated in this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan has been encouraging people to host coffee morning’s since 1990, enjoy some treats and raise money to help them ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
We crowned Andy our star baker for the delicious Malteaser tray bake he bought in ( …although we hope he shared the badge with his fiancée Lana!), and Jo won our guess the height of the cake sweepstake!
Most importantly, the team raised a fantastic £72.50 for a very worthy cause. We’re already looking forward to joining in again next year.
Our Head of Client Services, Scott, has been with Locale for four years and is a consistently positive and hard-working member of the team. Hannah and Jael, our project members, are key members of our production team. They are dedicated to delivering a continually high standard of work to our valued clients.
Our Employee of the Quarter award is peer-voted, so these winnings are a true testament to the value of Scott, Hannah & Jael to the company. Congratulations all!
