IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Technical Expertise:
    • 5+ years in API development and integrations
    • High level proficiency in PHP, Laravel, REST API, MySQL, and Git
    • Good understanding of intermediate tools like MariaDB, React, HTML/CSS, and JS frameworks
    • Familiarity with mobile development tools such as Dart and Flutter will be an advantage
    • Experience of working with agile methodologies, e.g. scrum
  • Industry Experience:
    • Experience in PropTech or similar industries is a strong advantage
    • Demonstrable experience of successful integrations with remote providers
  • Collaboration:
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Leadership:
    • Capable of mentoring team members and contributing to architectural decisions

  • THE ROLE

Responsibility

Build efficient, testable and reusable software modules

 

  • Write effective unit and behavioural tests for new and existing code
  • Write clean and well-designed code, following industry best practices where appropriate and sharing knowledge with the development team
  • Maintain existing codebase by refactoring and improving test coverage where required
  • Continually optimise the codebase
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
  • Develop & deploy new features to facilitate related procedures & tools if necessary

Documenting features and releases

  • Write detailed specifications and documentation for new features
  • Communicate and explain new features to non-technical personnel

·       Identify key growth drivers and develop plans to capitalise on them

·       Assess market trends and competitive landscapes to stay ahead of the curve

Adherence to the Agile framework

     

  • Work within agile framework to consistently deliver project work in iterative releases to established definition of done
  • Regularly demonstrate recent work in sprint review sessions
  • Provide constructive input to sprint retrospective sessions to enable continuous improvement of the development team
  • Contribute to all phases of requirement gathering and delivery process
  • Refine user stories and provide reasonable estimates of complexity of work

Contribute to team objectives

 

  • Achieve consistent delivery of target velocity per sprint
  • Demonstrate ownership and achievement of OKRs
  • Work with Lead Developer to ensure ongoing scalability of the Locale platform
  • Provide mentoring for team members, helping them to meet their objectives
