Locale, a provider of digital property management, engagement, and communication services, is delighted to announce that it has made the shortlist for the prestigious Employer Award after an unprecedented and challenging year.

The EG Awards seeks to crown the very best businesses in the UK and beyond, celebrating the advisers, investors and developers within the real estate sector that demonstrate innovation, long-term thinking and future proofing.

The Employer Award, with former winners including Gerald Eve, The Crown Estate and Hollis, searches for an exceptional employer that leads from the front. Criteria to be met from the judges include businesses that champion sustainability, diversity, inclusivity, and those going the extra mile for their staff.

Locale is delighted to be recognised in the Employer Award category amongst a number of real estate heavyweights such Knight Frank, British Land, & Savills, as the company held firm during the incredibly difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, and continued to spearhead initiatives and  reinforce values that put the team first such as wellbeing, collaboration, fun, and innovation.

Where COVID has shaken the core of many businesses, Locale pushed forward, actively recruiting new members without putting a single member of staff on furlough. The business model allowed new recruits to start immediately through a comprehensive online induction and were assigned a ‘buddy’ to ensure integration into the team. The business culture meanwhile meant a positive and collaborative environment was able to be maintained effectively.

Guy Windsor-Lewis, CEO & Founder of Locale, says “I am ecstatic that Locale has been shortlisted in the 2021 EG Awards, particularly for the Employer Award which reflects our continued growth and development as a business that puts people at its heart. Locale is a diverse and inclusive workplace that is home to people of all backgrounds, nationalities and experiences, and we strive to listen to our staff, and offer initiatives, resources, and events that are wanted and needed. This has become more critical in the last 15 months and I am proud of what we have achieved together through such a difficult time.”

Hosted by the Estates Gazette, winners of the 17th annual EG Awards will be announced on Thursday, 28 October at The Grosvenor House hotel
