Locale shortlisted twice in UK PropTech Association Awards

Locale, the UK’s leading occupier engagement platform, has been shortlisted in the UK PropTech Association Awards 2023 for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Impact and its Chief Product Officer, Dan O’Gorman, has been shortlisted for the Rising Star award.

Underpinned by clearly defined values, Locale’s CEO and founder Guy Windsor-Lewis recognised early on in his tenure that the Locale workforce is its most valuable asset, and so has evolved his company culture over nearly two decades, creating a fulfilling and nurturing working environment that is highly-skilled and productive with a key focus on being diverse and inclusive.

Women make up 50% of Locale’s staff and represent 34% of the senior leadership. Most notably, our Product & Development team has a 30/70 gender split – something which is rare in the tech field. Locale’s workforce’s age range varies from 19 through to 57 with 27% non-British including German, Romanian, Irish, Spanish, Ghanaian, Cuban, Portuguese, and South African. This has resulted in a culturally varied and dynamic place to work.

The drive for equity, diversity and inclusion has also led to the appointment of Director of People & Culture, Vanessa Sampson. A specially created role, she has carefully devised and implemented a framework to accelerate employee happiness and build a people-centric culture that is diverse and inclusive, transforming the way the company works, resulting in rapidly improved employee satisfaction and business metrics.

Rising Star Award

Known for his excellent commercial acumen, exemplary leadership, boldness and agility, and in-depth understanding of both technology and real estate, Dan O’Gorman joined Locale over a decade ago, playing a pivotal role in the company's organic growth, driving product development through close partnerships with early adopters and maintaining a strong commercial focus.

Having consulted on high-profile, large-scale real estate technology projects, including The Shard, East Village, King's Cross, and portfolio-wide digitisation projects for the likes of MAPP, Savills, BNP Paribas, Berkeley Homes, and FirstPort, he has helped deploy Locale’s software across 80m sq ft of UK real estate, covering residential and commercial property – something no other UK-based PropTech business has achieved.

Dan was instrumental in the creation of a new bespoke content streaming service within Locale during the pandemic. Pinpointing that bespoke content on digital signage was another valuable customer touch point within a building, he recognised how this could enhance the communications service of the portal and app whilst also being a service on its own. He scoped the synergy of these products, helped position the product and delivered the integrations at launch.
